In every community there is work to be done.  In every nation there are wounds to heal.  In every heart there is the power to do it.

Marianne Williamson

If you haven’t already heard, 2012 marks the 100th birthday of our city.  This month, the City of Torrance will be celebrating its centennial by tying in Earth Day as a source of inspiration.  The Torrance Centennial Events Committee has coordinated several city wide cleanup days during the month of April, which allows our city to, once again, come together to better our community.  Groups from all four corners of the Torrance will be mobilizing to clean, weed, paint, pick-up trash, beautify schools, parks and other venues in their neighborhood, and . . . you’re invited!  Together, we will have this City sparkling for its 100th birthday!

All scheduled events are open to the public.  Feel free to participate in more than one cleanup day — you’ll be “paying it forward” by making a difference in our community.  Check out the list below, and see which event fits your schedule — there’s something for everyone!  Each cleanup day has an on-site Coordinator you can contact for additional information.  You are encouraged to wear old clothes, tennis shoes, gloves and sunscreen.
