Newsflash, folks!  The Torrance Fire Department has started recruiting for Auxiliary Fire Fighter volunteers! 

What is it, you ask?
The Torrance Fire Department Auxiliary Fire Fighter is an unpaid internship program that provides Fire Academy graduates an opportunity to aply their acquired skills and gain insight, while preparing for a fire service career.  Under close supervision with a commitment to personal safety as well as the safety of others, Auxiliary Fire Fighters respond to emergencies, assist with Fire Prevention inspetions, and maintain apparatus, equipment and stations.  They also participate with training and public education. 

Torrance Fire Deparment is proud to have Class One Rating since 1995 by the Insurance Services Office.  This rating is the highest possible rating that can be given to any fire department nationwide.  Class One represents exemplary fire protection in the community.  The Department is rated in the areas of operations, water supply system, and emergency communications system.
